Inside the Monte Casino

Yesterday I mentioned that Fourways' Monte Casino was modeled after an Italian village. In fact, Dave from Costa Rica let me know that there is indeed a 'Monte Cassino' monastery in Italy! 

Here are a few shots from the interior of the casino. Pretty convincing, isn't it?

    I wonder how the monks in the Monte Casino Monastery would think about the fact that there is now a Monte Casino casino in South Africa.

    It is nicely done. In the bottom photo, I can see that they have even chipped the stone blocks to give the appearance of age.
